1. Passport & Residency Rules Know Your Status

Entry depends entirely on your passport nationality, not your UAE residence status.

  • Emirati Citizens: You do NOT need a visa for short trips up to **90 days**.
  • UAE Residents (Expats): Most nationalities (India, Pakistan, Philippines, etc.) require a **Schengen Visa (Type C)**.
  • First Entry Rule: Your visa must be from Poland if it's your main destination or first point of entry into the Schengen zone.
  • Passport: Must be valid for at least **3 months** after your planned departure from Poland.
2. 2026 Fee Hike & Digital MOS New Law

Starting **1 January 2026**, Poland has increased government charges significantly.

  • Schengen Visa (C): Fee has inched up to **€90** (approx. AED 365).
  • National Visa (D): Fee has nearly doubled to **€200** (approx. AED 810).
  • MOS E-filing: Every residence permit application must now be submitted via the **MOS online portal** with an electronic signature.
  • VFS Global: Applications from the UAE must be submitted through VFS centers in **Dubai** or **Abu Dhabi**.
3. Financial Proof & Healthcare Mandatory

Border authorities and consulates require proof of self-sufficiency.

  • Daily Allowance: You must prove possession of at least **PLN 300** for stays up to 4 days, or **PLN 75/day** for longer stays.
  • Return Funds: You need an additional **PLN 2,500** specifically for your return journey to the UAE.
  • Schengen Insurance: Minimum coverage of **€30,000** is compulsory. It must be verifiable via a QR code in 2026.
  • Bank Statements: Residents must provide verifiable bank statements for the last **3-6 months**.
4. 2026 Security Alerts Expect Checks

Temporary security measures are currently active at Polish land borders.

  • Extended Checks: Temporary controls at land borders (Germany/Lithuania) have been extended until **4 April 2026**.
  • EES Tech: Poland is piloting new **e-gates** connected to the EU Entry/Exit System—expect spot checks at road and rail crossings.
  • Zero Tolerance: Poland has a **0.02% blood alcohol limit** for driving. Public drunkenness can lead to immediate arrest.
  • Currency: Polish Zloty (PLN) is the local currency. While cards are common, keep cash for small markets and public restrooms.
