1. Schengen Visa & Financial Proof Mandatory
Pakistani citizens MUST obtain a valid Schengen visa before traveling to France.
- Financial Mandate: Solo travelers must show a 6-month bank statement with a minimum balance of approx. **PKR 1,000,000** (Families: **PKR 2.5 Million**).
- Submission Location: Applications must be submitted at the authorized visa center (**AEG Travel Services**) which handles appointments for the French Embassy in Islamabad.

2. New Biometric EES Transition April 10 Full Launch
Passport stamps are being phased out in favor of a digital border system.
- What is EES? It's an automated IT system that registers non-EU nationals. It records your name, travel document, and biometrics (facial image and fingerprints).
- Rollout: Currently in a "progressive launch" phase, it will be fully operational by **10 April 2026**.
- Wait Times: Expect slightly longer queues at Paris (CDG) and other major hubs as travelers register for the first time.
- Digital Stamp: The system replaces manual stamps and automatically calculates your stay to detect overstayers.
3. 2026 Travel Insurance Rules Strict Vetting
Non-compliant insurance is a top reason for visa refusals in Pakistan.
- Minimum Coverage: Must cover at least **€30,000** for medical emergencies and repatriation.
- Schengen-Wide: Policy must explicitly state it is valid for all **29 Schengen countries**.
- Daily Subsistence: You must prove you have at least **€65 per day** if staying in a hotel, or **€120 per day** if no hotel booking is presented.
- Family Ties: An original **NADRA FRC** (Family Registration Certificate) is mandatory to prove ties to Pakistan.
4. 2026 Customs & Safety Strict Enforcement
France enforces strict biosecurity and financial rules at all entry points.
- Currency: You MUST declare cash or monetary instruments exceeding **€10,000** (approx. PKR 3 Million).
- Food Alert: Strictly NO meat or dairy products from outside the EU. Homemade snacks from Pakistan will be confiscated.
