As EU and Schengen members, there are no permanent border controls between Poland and France, but temporary checks may occur in 2026.

• No ETIAS: Polish citizens are exempt from the new ETIAS system launching in 2026.
• Travel Documents: You can travel with either a valid **Polish National ID Card** (Dowód osobisty) or a **Passport**.
• Temporary Checks: France occasionally reinstates border monitoring for security events. Always keep your ID on you during land travel (Train/Bus).
• No Stamps: Your passport will not be stamped when moving between Poland and France.

Polish citizens have the same labor rights as French nationals under EU law.

• No Work Permit: You can start a job in France immediately without applying for a work visa.
• Stay Duration: For stays longer than 3 months, you must be employed, a student, or have sufficient financial means and health insurance.
• Carte de Séjour: As a Polish citizen, you are NOT required to hold a residence permit, but you can apply for an optional "EU citizen" residence card at the local *Préfecture*.

France’s healthcare system (*Sécurité Sociale*) is highly integrated with EU standards.

• EHIC: Ensure you have your **European Health Insurance Card** from Poland for emergency medical care.
• CPAM Registration: If you move to France for work, you must register with the *Caisse Primaire d'Assurance Maladie* (CPAM) to get your *Carte Vitale*.
• Mutuelle: It is common in France to have a top-up private insurance (*Mutuelle*) to cover the remaining 30% of medical costs.

Movement of goods between EU countries is generally duty-free for personal use.

• France Identity App: In 2026, France is expanding its **Digital ID** (France Identité) which Polish residents in France can eventually link for easier government services.
• Tobacco & Alcohol: While duty-free, there are indicative limits (e.g., 800 cigarettes) to prove items are for personal use and not for resale.
• Currency: If traveling directly from Poland to France, no currency declaration is required unless you are carrying **€10,000** or more in cash.
