1. Tourist & Visit E-Visas Online Only
Canadian citizens without Pakistani origin must apply for an E-Visa via the official Pakistan Online Visa System portal.
- No Manual Submission: Consulates in Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, and Montreal no longer accept manual visa applications.
- LOI Requirement: You typically need a Letter of Invitation (LOI) from a travel agency or a host in Pakistan with their CNIC copy.
- Hotel Booking: Confirmed hotel bookings are often accepted for tourist visa applications.
- Duration: Single-entry tourist visas are usually granted for up to 30 days.
2. NICOP (For Overseas Pakistanis) Lifelong Benefit
The **NICOP (National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis)** allows Canadian-Pakistanis to enter Pakistan without a visa.
- The App: You can apply directly through the **Pak Identity** mobile app by NADRA. It scans fingerprints and documents via your phone camera.
- Birth Certificate: For children born in Canada, a Canadian long-form birth certificate and parents' CNIC/NICOP are required.
- Benefit: Visa-free entry, right to buy/sell property, and eligibility to open a Roshan Digital Account (RDA).
3. Pakistan Origin Card (POC) Visa-Free
Designed for Canadians married to Pakistani nationals or those who have renounced their Pakistani citizenship.
- Spouse Category: If you are a Canadian citizen married to a Pakistani national, POC grants you lifelong stay in Pakistan.
- Application: Requires an attested marriage certificate and the spouse's valid CNIC/NICOP.
- Verification: NADRA may conduct a physical verification of the address or a video interview with the spouse.
4. Border Security & Customs Mandatory
Pakistan has specific regulations regarding currency and technology at its international airports.
- Currency: You must declare any cash or monetary instruments exceeding **USD 10,000** (or equivalent in CAD).
- Mobile Phones (DIRBS): If you plan to stay more than 60 days, you must register your Canadian mobile phone (IMEI) with the PTA via the DIRBS system to avoid it being blocked.
- Health: You may be required to show a Polio Vaccination certificate if you stay in Pakistan for more than 4 weeks and are exiting the country.
