1. Visitor Visa & New VAC Fees Mandatory Jan 1
Indian citizens must apply for a visa before travel. NZeTA is not available for India.
- New VAC Charges: Since **1 January 2026**, VFS Global service fees have increased due to inflation. Expect an additional **&rupee;2,000 – &rupee;3,000** on top of the visa fee.
- The IVL: Most visitors must pay the **NZD $100** International Visitor Levy, which is included in your online application payment.
- RealMe Account: You MUST create a **RealMe account** to submit your application securely online.
- Passport: Must be valid for at least **3 months** beyond your intended departure date.
2. Bank Balance & Proof of Return Strict Vetting
New Zealand strictly checks "Genuine Intentions" for Indian applicants.
- Bank Balance: A 6-month personal statement showing at least **&rupee;1.5 Lakh to &rupee;2.5 Lakh** for solo travelers is recommended.
- Daily Funds: You must prove access to **NZD $1,000 per month** (approx. &rupee;52,000) or **NZD $400** if accommodation is pre-paid.
- Employment: Original NOC from your employer and 3 months of salary slips are essential.
- Family Ties: Include your **Aadhar card** and property documents to prove strong ties to India.
3. 2026 Health & Biosecurity Strict Enforcement
New Zealand protects its ecosystem aggressively with digital and physical checks.
- NZTD Declaration: You must complete the **New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD)** online or via the app within **24 hours** before departure.
- Chest X-Ray: If staying longer than 6 months, Indian citizens must provide a chest X-ray from a panel doctor (e.g., Max Healthcare).
- Food Alert: Strictly NO fresh food, honey, or plant products. Fines for non-declaration start at **NZD $400**.
- Hiking Gear: Any camping or hiking gear used in India must be **perfectly clean** of soil.
4. Group & Event Applications Fast Track
Special provisions for weddings, events, or large tour groups.
- 30+ Visitors: If organizing an event with 30 or more people, notify Immigration NZ early for priority group processing.
- Group Fee: A **Group Visitor Visa** costs approx. **NZD $125** per person, which is cheaper than individual applications.
- Same Purpose: All members of a group application must have the same travel dates and purpose.
