1. Visitor Visa & VAC Service Fee Mandatory Jan 1
Turkish citizens must apply for a visa before travel. NZeTA is not available for Turkish ordinary passports.
- New VAC Charges: Since **1 January 2026**, Visa Application Centre (VAC) service fees in Turkey have increased due to rising operational costs and inflation.
- Online Application: You MUST apply online via **RealMe** account. Even if applying online, you may be required to pay the VAC fee for biometric collection.
- The IVL: Most visitors must pay the **NZD $100** International Visitor Levy, which is bundled with your visa fee.
- Passport Validity: Your passport must be valid for at least **3 months** beyond your intended departure date.
2. Bank Balance & Proof of Return Strict Vetting
New Zealand strictly checks "Genuine Intentions" for Turkish applicants.
- Daily Funds: You must prove you have at least **NZD $1,000 per month** (approx. 20,000 TL) for your stay.
- Pre-paid Accomodation: If your hotels are already paid, the requirement drops to **NZD $400 per month**.
- Working Holiday: Turkish citizens aged 18-30 applying for the Working Holiday Visa must show at least **NZD $7,000** (approx. 140,000 TL).
- Documents: 6-month bank statements (stamped), SGK dökümü (for employees), and translated versions of any non-English documents.
3. Working Holiday (Ages 18-30) Special Scheme
A special annual quota exists for young Turkish nationals to work and travel.
- Eligibility: Must be a citizen of Turkey, aged 18-30, with a tertiary qualification (University/Vocational).
- English Requirement: You must provide an acceptable English language test result (not more than 2 years old).
- Quota Warning: These visas are highly competitive. If the quota is full, you must wait until the next cycle opens later in 2026.
4. 2026 Customs & Prohibited Goods Strict Enforcement
New Zealand Border Force and Biosecurity NZ maintain zero-tolerance at airports like AKL.
- NZTD Declaration: You must complete the **New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD)** online or via the app within **24 hours** before departure.
- Food Alert: Strictly NO fresh food, honey, or plant products. Fines for non-declaration start at **NZD $400**.
- Currency: You MUST declare cash or monetary instruments exceeding **NZD $10,000**.
