Malaysia Entry Guide 2026

British citizens can visit Malaysia for tourism or business for up to 90 days without a visa.

• MDAC Mandate: You MUST submit the **Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC)** online within 3 days before your arrival. This is a mandatory digital declaration.
• Passport Validity: Your British passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry.
• Autogate Eligibility: British passport holders are eligible to use automated gates (Autogate) at KLIA for faster immigration clearance.

Mandatory for any British student enrolled in a full-time academic program.

• eVAL Application: You must apply for an Electronic Visa Approval Letter (eVAL) through **EMGS** before traveling.
• Financial Proof: You must demonstrate funds to cover tuition and a monthly living allowance of at least **US$500**.
• Post-Arrival: You must undergo a medical screening in Malaysia within 7 days of arrival to validate your Student Pass.

Malaysia has updated the salary thresholds for foreign professionals effective from 2026.

• Category I: For executives earning at least **RM 20,000** per month (increased from RM 10k).
• Category II: For professionals earning between **RM 10,000 and RM 19,999** per month.
• ESD Registration: Your employer must be registered with the Expatriate Services Division (ESD) to sponsor your permit.
